
The Union Ministry of Highway Transport and Highways has issued a notification amending the motorized vehicle associated rules to incorporate compliance with gas consumption requirements (FCS), for mild, medium and heavy responsibility motor autos of varied classes, manufactured in, or imported by, India . The date of applicability of this notification is starting April.
The continued compliance to FCS shall be verified as per the process of conformity of manufacturing, outlined in Automotive Trade Commonplace 149, the notification notes.
Previous to this notification, compliance with annual gas consumption commonplace was restricted to motor autos of M1 class (motorized vehicle used for carriage of passengers, comprising no more than 8 seats, along with the motive force’s seat) with Gross Car weight (GVW) as much as 3.5 tonnes. “The purpose of this notification is to increase the ambit of autos for compliance with FCS, and therefore introduce extra fuel-efficient autos” the ministry mentioned.
